The Fundraising Committee is composed of parents with experience in managing and raising finances.

The Committee collaborates with the school’s Board of Governors, offering advice on investments and working together on fundraising strategies and opportunities.

The Infrastructure Committee, composed of parents with expertise in architecture and engineering, oversees the development and maintenance of school facilities. It conducts periodic reviews, suggests plans for repairs, and guides project implementation.

Key projects include renovating the 4th floor for activity spaces and creating Yoga and Music rooms. The committee also collaborates with the IT Committee on tech infrastructure and led the setup of the Green Room and AV Room, ensuring alignment with the school’s needs.

BIS has long supported inclusion, with a focus on students with special educational needs. The Inclusion and Diversity Committee leads efforts to create a more inclusive environment, also promoting socio-economic inclusion.

Believing that inclusion benefits all students by fostering care and empathy, the committee has intensified efforts by adding special educators, counsellors, and assistant teachers. BIS admits students it can support, ensuring a positive impact for both special needs students and the broader school community.

The BIS kitchen, parent-run since 1962, provides nutritious meals to students and staff. Initially serving milk, it expanded to snacks and full meals, with continuous innovations and renovations.

Around 60 parent volunteers, including mothers and fathers, manage the kitchen, planning menus, supervising cooking, and serving meals. The committee, with help from a nutritionist, ensures balanced, healthy, and interesting meals. They also oversee vendor selection, monitor purchases, and handle weekly deliveries to maintain quality.

The Sports Committee assists PE instructors in achieving their goals and acts as a link between parents and the school on sports activities.

It helps prepare the inter-house sports calendar, aligning it with MSSA, and coordinates external venues for events like Swimming, Athletics, Badminton, Squash, and Tennis.

The Committee monitors external resources, addresses concerns, and organizes parent volunteers for inter-school soccer matches, ensuring smooth coordination. It also arranged weekly PE sessions at Cooperage sports grounds to enhance the PE program.

The technology committee made up of parents with IT expertise, ensures the school’s IT infrastructure stays up-to-date. It recommends hardware, software, and equipment procurement, overseeing budgets and the types of operating systems needed for educational use. The committee facilitates networking integration to support teachers in classrooms while ensuring security and privacy.

Over time, the goal is to move BIS towards a paperless communication system, aligning with modern technological advancements.

The transport & logistics committee ensures safe, consistent, and timely transport for children. It handles route planning, rate finalization, and selects reliable vendors to ensure smooth operations. The committee optimizes the number of children per route and minimizes commute time, while maintaining a transparent and competitive rate structure.

Each route is managed by a committee member who travels with the children, addressing issues like timing, space, driving quality, cleanliness, and the presence of bus attendants.
